People praised the 28th Prime Minister of Australia after he jumped into the burning fires in Bendalong to help with the recent wildfire.
Tony Abbot who served as Australian PM from 2013 to 2015 was among those who volunteered for Rural Fire Service for the Australia recent fire crisis.
Dressed-up with the proper RFS gear and firefighters kit, the former PM carried breathing apparatus and ran into a burning building to battle the destructive blazes.
It wasn’t Mr. Abbot’s first experience of fighting with fire.
He has reportedly been offering his services to Ingleside Rural Fire Brigade in the protection of northern beaches in Sydney for several years.
A video clip showing Mr. Abbot bravely struggling with the fire was shared on Facebook by the firefighters’ group with a caption: “Former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott is seen here setting up to wear Breathing Apparatus (BA) and running to extinguish a house fire at Bendalong.”
Describing in detail the work done by Mr. Abbot to help those who were in misery, the group added: “Tony used BA on 4 occasions on Saturday including at 2 structure fires.
“Great to see Tony working hard as he always does when he volunteers with the RFS.
“The 5 tanker Strike Team lead by our Ingleside officers worked in terrible fire conditions due to heat and strong winds. The fire impacted Bendalong and Manyana communities.”
The fact that makes the fight of former PM with deadly fires more unbelievable was that the temperature at the time had reached 45-degree Celsius that’s absolutely hard to endure.
Ingleside RFS crew shared another video showing how dreadful the blazes were when they first arrived.
The caption read: “The video shows the ferocity of the fire impacting when our Ingleside Strike Team Leader and his team, including our former Prime Minister Tony Abbott were first into the street.
“A number of fire trucks were deployed into the street. Sheds and caravans were lost, but all houses were saved. Temperatures were 45⁰C (113⁰F) with 45km/h hot winds.”
