It was revealed that Chauvin did not mention that he had knelt on George Floyd’s neck until he was asked.

The former cop can be heard telling his supervisor: “I was just going to call you come out to our scene we had to hold a guy down he was going crazy, wouldn’t go in the back of the squad.”

Pleoger testified in court and said that Chauvin did not inform him that he had knelt on Floyd’s neck or that he had pinned him down for a long time.

“I believe he told me he’d become combative he mentioned he’d injured either his nose of his mouth and eventually having struggled with him,” Pleoger said.

“He said he’d suffered a medical emergency and an ambulance was called.”

The defense then made an objection when prosecutor Steve Schleicher asked: “Do you believe the restraint should have ended at some point in the encounter?”

Judge Peter Cahill then allowed Pleoger to answer. “Yes (it should have ended) when Mr. Floyd was no longer offering up any resistance.”

Pleoger, who was a supervising shift sergeant, was tasked with investigating any use of force incidents that occurred during his 3 am to 1 pm shift.

Pleoger rushed to the scene after receiving a call from 911 dispatcher Jenna Scurry who saw the incident outside Cup Foods.

Scurry said that she had a ‘gut feeling’ that what she was witnessing ‘was not right.’

“She called to say she didn’t want to be a snitch but she had seen something while viewing a camera that she thought was concerning,” Pleoger recalled.
