Crowd Sang National Anthem After Announcer Said It Wouldn’t Be Played


It was a softball championship game on Friday in Fresno, California and it was a norm to sing the national anthem before the game started, but people were shocked when the announcer announced something that was against their love for their country.

The announcer announced that they wouldn’t be playing the national anthem before the game. When the audience realized what was happening, they started booing and then something happened which proved the unity and patriotism of the people.

Tiffany Marquez who was one of the people from the crowd later said that she was shocked when the announcer announced such an unorthodox thing. She said: “As soon as the announcement was made, people started standing on their feet and singing, slowly the voices rose high.” She said that what she witnessed was a perfect example of patriotism and above all, unity.

The Coordinator of the event Bob Kayajanian said that usually anthem is played at the start of the first game when more than one game is played in a day. He added that they try to do what is being happened for last few years.

“I think it was a wonderful moment, everyone standing up in favor of their country, showing off their patriotism,” he added.

In the softball game, Buchanan High School Bears were defeated by the Clovis High School Cougars.
