At-Home Tint Kit Leaves Student’s Eyebrows Burnt and She Gets Hospitalized

Montana Eastwood’s story is similar where the at-home eyebrow tint she was using to dye her eyebrows led her to the hospital.

She is a 19-year-old student who was studying hairdressing and as a part of her curriculum decided to dye her eyebrows.

She applied the tint on her eyebrows and left it on for 5 minutes. After removing the tint, she was happy with the results.

The reaction stuck after 2 hours of application where she discovered a burn on her eyebrows. The burns only augmented as time passed, forcing her to drive to the hospital in an emergency.

To ease the agony, the doctors administered steroid tablets and antihistamine. The medication also helped in the burning to recede.

Montana, from Bideford, Devon said that she attempted to dye her eyebrows because she was tired of filling them up with so much makeup to make them appear darker.

Although she was using the kit for the first time, she went through the instruction and followed them precisely.

Her mistake, probably, was that she went for the wrong kit which left her with suck mortifying results.

The damage began with an itchy rash followed by sore burn which weeped liquid. On Monday, she visited the doctor for the same who gave her some cream to ease the pain.

However, the agony didn’t settle and she could not even open her eyes. Her burns then landed her in a hospital where she was kept under professional observation.

Now, she is using her experience as a lesson and teaching others to do a patch test before they try any product on their skin. Even if your body was used to a certain product before, it keeps evolving and might not accept some chemical applications again.

She says, “I have dyed my hair so many times and my body has never had this sort of a reaction – but it just shows that your body is constantly changing.

“A patch test doesn’t take long at all and can save you from a lot of pain and aggravation!”
