An Asian student who is 23 years old reported that he was beaten up by men in London who screamed at the top of their voices that they do not need coronavirus in their country.
Jonathan Mok shared pictures of his face with a bruise and swelling all over and narrated what had happened requesting others to keep racial hatred out of their minds at least in a global city like London.
The post was traced by the Metropolitan Police Department who is not working on the investigation for the same on the name of racially aggravated assault.
Mok said that while he has been going to school in London for the past 2 years he had come across several racially discriminating comments but he had never thought that he would be beaten up by people on the same remark.
He added that the virus has just become another means of racial discrimination.
Mok said that he was walking through Oxford Street at around 9:15 p.m when he walked passed a ground of young people. As he was walking he heard the men staring at him and making a comment regarding Coronavirus.
Mok said that he stayed and looked at the men who within 3 seconds along with more than half of the people in the group started beating him up.
He said that then the man who had passed the comment punched him in the face several times. Another man also kicked him in the crotch. He said that the man screamed that they do not want Coronavirus in their country and punched him in the face again.
Mok said that a few passersby saw what was happening and called the police and helped him up. Till then the man had already run away.
