Abraham Lincoln emphasized the importance of preparation. Randy Wagner, who lives in Texas, knew exactly what Lincoln meant.
However, before the flood happened, the neighbor all made fun of Wagner.

Wagner was really concerned about the flood when he heard how bad it was going to be, so he decided to do something to prevent the future disaster. He somehow found out the way to protect his house and all of his family’s belongings but all of his neighbor who laughed at him failed to save their house from a 27 inches of water.
Before the mandatory evacuation around the area, Wagner searched for the method to get away from the flood. With a lot of research for few days, he finally found the way to save his house and family: the AQUA DAM!
The Aqua Dam is a tube that is filled up with water. It is 400-foot long and functions as a large sandbag around a house. It took several hours and to set up the Aqua Dam surrounding his house, but Wagner felt a lot safer in his home.
He spent $8,300 on the Aqua Dam, but when the flood devoured the whole town, the investment paid off. The neighbor who belittled him of spending $8,300 on the Aqua Dam had to spend much more money to fix up their house. But thanks to his quick decision, his house was the only house to endured during the record flood.

The most remarkable thing about Wagner is not that he prepared for the flood and saved the house. He does not brag about the fact that he was right nor say “I told you so!” to his neighbor. He remains calm and humble, and attributes his decision to God for showing the right direction to buy the Aqua Dam.
