Only hours after President Joe Biden was sworn in, Antifa rioters burned American flags in Denver and spray-painted graffiti on storefronts in Seattle.
They also destroyed windows at Portland’s Democratic Party headquarters as many marched in Columbus, Ohio, wielding clubs and shields while rioting in Sacramento.
Hundreds of people gathered outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Portland where Federal police issued warnings telling the protesters not to enter the property, according to KGW-TV.
Federal police were forced to use tear gas to disperse rioters who threw eggs and stones at the ICE building.
The chaos escalated and officers were forced to close the streets leading to the ICE building, which has been the site of many clashes between federal police and protesters over the past year.
Videos shared on social media show authorities trying to stop the riots as protesters have long demanded that the ICE be abolished.
Earlier on Wednesday, a group of antifa rioters shamed the windows of the Democratic Party headquarters in Oregon.
Many carried anti-police and anti-Biden signs as they marched around the streets and destroyed the headquarters of the Democratic Party of Oregon.
One tarpaulin reads: “We don’t want Biden, we want revenge!”
At least two have been arrested on weapons charges as anti-fascist protesters set a U.S. flag on fire, KMGH-TV reported.
The protests were staged by an anti-fascist group that marched to the Colorado Capitol.
The protesters chanted in support of BLM while demanding more progressive policies.
One of the speakers shouted: “This is such a monumental day. Because today is the day we dump Trump. But we need to embrace resistance too. The fight is just beginning.”
