In the clip, a highly venomous eastern brown snake is seen flattening its large body to squeeze through the narrow gap underneath a door.

“Eastern brown snakes — even a large one like this — have the ability to flatten themselves out and gradually squeeze under tiny gaps under doors,” Mark explained.

“I frequently find them inside Australian houses in summer.”

Speaking to Yahoo News Australia, the snake catcher added: “All snakes endemic to Melbourne are venomous and have the ability to flatten themselves out to squeeze into tight spaces.”

Nevertheless, not all snakes have the same ability to flatten themselves when needed, Mark said.

After many viewers asked for advice on keeping the slithery animals out of their homes, Mark said there was no 100% successful method to keep snakes at bay.

He suggested, however, that installing draft stoppers and door sweeps underneath the door may help deter reptiles from your home.
