200 Angry Lawyers Stormed The Hospital And Attacked Doctors Who Allegedly Mocked Them


Three patients have passed away after two hundred angry lawyers stormed a hospital and attacked the doctors they have been in dispute with.

The incident occurred in Lahore, Pakistan, where the medical professionals of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology have been in an on-going battle with local lawyers after the latter claimed that the doctors ridiculed them.

During the attack on the medical institution, three patients have died since the staff wasn’t able to tend to them in a timely manner.

“Three patients including an elderly woman died after doctors failed to provide them timely treatment and remained engaged in averting the assault,” Yasmeen Rashid, the Punjab health minister, revealed in a statement.

Besides being responsible for the death of three people, the lawyers have also assaulted the doctors, destroyed property, and vandalized a series of vehicles including a police van that rushed to the scene.

According to the local reports, the 200 lawyers stormed the building and started hitting the doctors with sticks and other objects they brought with them.

In addition, they attacked Fayyaz-ul-Hassan, the Punjab information minister, who arrived at the scene to try to negotiate peace.

As the police have revealed, the tensions between the Punjab Institute of Cardiology medics and the lawyers from the city of Lahore have been growing ever since one of them complained he was mistreated and ridiculed by the doctors because of his status.

“This was kind of a high-handedness which none of civilized societies can tolerate,” law minister Raja Basharat expressed after the incident.

“Several lawyers have been identified from the television footage and the government will deal with all those involved in the attack with an iron hand.”
