Angelina Jolie, 46, and Brad Pitt, 57, became one of Hollywood’s most glamorous couples.
Their family grew to include six children, three of whom were adopted, before they announced their engagement in April 2012.
On September 19, Jolie filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.
Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, 31, known professionally as The Weeknd, had a longtime on-again, off-again relationship with Bella Hadid before both moved on for good in 2019. It was during one of their “off” stretches that the Weeknd dated Selena Gomez, 28, for around ten months.
The Weeknd split from Hadid in November 2016 and was first linked to Selena two months later. Things appeared to get serious in September 2017 when the pair rented an apartment together in New York City while Selena filmed A Rainy Day in New York.
Although it appeared that all was well between the Weeknd and Selena Gomez, they ended up splitting in October 2017.
And recently, it has been revealed that the award-winning actress enjoyed a romantic date night in Los Angeles yesterday with the singer.
Angelina Jolie and The Weeknd have left people completely surprised after they were spotted on July 1 having a dinner date at Giorgio Baldi, Santa Monica in Los Angeles.
Celebrity hotspot “Giorgio Baldi” was said to have hosted the pair for a number of hours on the evening of July 1st.
According to a report on Page Six, the two spent hours together at the restaurant before leaving separately.
Angelina was dressed in a trench coat for the occasion, while Abel was seen wearing a black T-shirt with a denim-and-denim combo of jeans and a trucker jacket.
According to several international publications, Angelina and Abel might have bonded over their shared love for Ethiopia.
The Weeknd’s parents are from Ethiopia, while Angelina adopted her 16-year-old daughter Zahara Marley from the east African country.
In Addition, The Weeknd recently shared that he would be donating USD 1 million to Ethiopia while the country faces tension in its Tigray Region, according to The New York Times.
However, Page Six points out it’s just as likely the two could be meeting for business rather than pleasure, as The Weeknd looks to break into Hollywood.’
“They’re clearly not trying to hide (the dinner date),” an insider reportedly told the tabloid. “He’s definitely focused on getting into the movie business. He has the new HBO series he’s starring in.”
Abel has previously also tried his hand in acting when he appeared alongside Adam Sandler in “Uncut Gems.” He also wrote an episode of “American Dad” last year.
There were reports that Abel’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez once notably crossed paths with Angelina’s ex-husband Brad, back in 2016, while they were still married.
The National Enquirer had claimed that Brad “shamelessly flirted” with Selena causing issues between him and Angelina, though the claims were denied.
While the Maleficent star Angelina was lately linked to her ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller, during her divorce battle with Brad, which has been going on since September 2016.
Angelina has been married three times, to Jonny Lee Miller in 1996, Billy Bob Thornton in 2000, and Brad Pitt from 2014 to 2019.
Sources have claimed that The Weeknd had his eye on Angelina for a few years now and even mentioned her in the song Party Monster.
In the first verse, he says: “Ooh, she mine, ooh girl, bump and grind / Ooh, she mine, ooh girl, bump a line / Angelina, lips like Angelina / Like Selena, a** shaped like Selena”
“He’s had a crush on her for years – who hasn’t?” the source said.
Their meeting comes as a bit of a shock after the songwriter previously mentioned Brad in his 2016 hit single Starboy.
“Let a n**ga Brad Pitt, legend of the fall took the year like a bandit,” the Weeknd sang, referencing his über musical success in the Fall of 2015.
On the other hand, Jolie has been involved in a nearly five-year-long custody battle with her estranged husband Brad Pitt, with whom she had children.
They share six kids, Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15 and 12-year-old twins Knox and Vivian. Angelina filed for divorce from Brad on September 19, 2016.
Brad was investigated for possible child abuse after losing his temper in front of some of the children but was later cleared of the allegations.
