The arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell, who intelligence agencies believe holds the keys to unlocking the reality behind the sex crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein, has made everyone even slightly related to the deceased criminal nervous.
One such nervous man is Prince Andrew from the British royalty. Although he has denied the allegations that have been put forth against him, the US Department of Justice has officially requested that he comply with an interview over his alleged acts.
In particular, Prince Andrew has been specified by one of the ‘sex slaves’ that was under Epstein who claimed that she was forced to sleep with the Prince when she was only 17.
As the truth behind Epstein and the friendship between the two became pubic, Andrew tried to mitigate the rumors by giving an interview. In what has become an infamous meltdown, the disastrous interview in which he seemed to defend his relationship with Epstein worsened his public image.
Since the PR disaster that was the interview, the Duke of York has kept a low public profile. His cancellation of an annual trip to Spain this year encapsulates his overall nervousness and tenseness over the issue.
Royal sources claimed that the reason that the Prince cancelled the golf trip is because he feels uneasy leaving the UK, especially since the American officials have asked him to give an interview over the alleged crimes.
Prince Andrew’s regular trips to Spain were well-known and considered an annual event. For instance, he still decided to go stay with a friend last year, just days after Epstein suicided while he was imprisoned in a correctional facility in New York City.
The Duke’s legal team has expressed Prince Andrew’s willingness to comply with the DOJ’s request to provide an interview, although he has not done so as of yet.
The same source that explained the reason for the cancellation of the trip further predicted that it is highly unlikely that Andrew will ever leave the UK before the whole situation is settled down – and even more unlikely that he will ever visit the US again.
