It’s been ten years since Amazon launched Black Friday in the UK.
This year, the photos from Amazon’s depot shows they did do something big for the grand event.
The Amazon depot situated in Dunfermline, Fife, has a gigantic 93,000 square meter floor space. To put that into perspective, that’s around 14 football grounds back to back.
This Amazon depot stores items that are to be sent to customers all around the globe.

Inside the store, a huge conveyor belt runs to move the stuff around and items are stacked from floor to ceiling, waiting to be shipped to the customers.
Amazon sold more than two million items on Black Friday last year as the customers tried to grab stuff at attractive rates.
The majority of the workers at the depot dress up in Christmas-themed dressing during this season. Workers can be seen wearing Santa hats and festive clothing.
This gigantic Amazon depot has a permanent staff of around 1,000 people and to cope with the increased demand in times like Black Friday, more than 1,500 extra workers are hired.
To keep work during the Christmas season ‘fun and exciting,’ Amazon organizes competitions, quizzes and Christmas jumper days for the staff.
General Manager of Amazon Dunfermline, Graham Allison, said: “We know how important it is to help our customers save money where they can at this time of year, so we’re excited to be holding our tenth Black Friday Sale to UK customers in the lead-up to the festive season.
“We have a fantastic team here in Dunfermline and are really looking forward to getting our customers’ festive orders out the door and off for delivery.”
Measuring by market capitalization and revenue, Amazon is the world’s biggest e-commerce marketplace, computing platform, AI assistant provider and internet company.
Amazon is the biggest private employer in the US and is also one of the most valuable brands in the world.
Jeff Bezos started Amazon on July 5, 1994, in Bellevue, Washington.
The platform was initially started to sell books online but rapidly expanded its services to selling software, electronics, home appliances and basically anything you can and cannot think of.
Amazon became the most valuable retailer in the US in 2015, surpassing Walmart.
Amazon acquired Whole Foods Market in 2017 for $13.4 billion, which increased the scope of its services even further.
Last year, Jeff Bezos announced that Amazon’s two-day delivery service, Amazon Prime had crossed 100 million subscribers worldwide.
