Military Wife Left In Tears After Workers Repaired Her Broken Furnace For Free

Bridget, a young mother with two beautiful children, lives alone.

Not because she is a single mom, but because her husband is a brave man fighting for America. Because of this, all housework, including fixing things that would usually be the job of her husband, falls on her shoulders…

Unfortunately, when she came home in the dead of winter with her two children, their home was ice cold.point 125 | She realized her furnace had stopped working.point 164 | Their home was too cold for Bridget and her children to stay in.point 216 |

 So, she reached Betlyn Heating and Cooling in a neighboring town of Coraopolis.point 69 | The worker, Paul, agreed to drive to her home to help her fix the furnace.point 129 | point 129 | 1

As Paul was chipping away at the heater, he and Bridget began talking about their lives. She said she’d usually ask her husband to fix the heater, but he’s currently on deployment. They continued talking as he worked away, but Bridget had no idea the weight of what she told the man truly meant to him.

So, when Bridget went to pay Paul, he gave her a receipt — with an unbelievably touching note jotted over the surface.

Bridget took to Facebook and shared her story as well as the note:

“This is a bit lengthy, but I just want to take a minute to acknowledge Betlyn Heating and Cooling. I came home with the boys to a cold house that was 50 degrees. When turning up the thermostat was not kicking the furnace on, I called Betlyn’s, thinking I’d get a machine and have to leave a message, then run to the store for space heaters. Ultimately, Paul, the owner, answered and was very patient as he walked me through different things to do to try to get it back on.

When none of that worked, he said he needed to come to the house to fix it.”

“As he was working on the furnace, we got to talking about Bobby and the deployment. I had mentioned in passing that I tried to figure it out with my husband, but since he’s deployed and couldn’t see it, he wouldn’t know what to do.”

“After he was finished, I was a little apprehensive about how much it was going to cost. He handed me the slip that is in this photo.

When I tried to give him any money at all, he said that the $1 was a joke, and to thank my husband for his service.”

“So, thanks Paul Betlyn. My house is nice and warm thanks to you.”
