According to the source, Alec “doesn’t want any sympathy” because he knows that what Halyna’s family, including her husband and her son, is going through is much worse.

The revelation comes shortly after Baldwin stopped at the side of a road in Vermont to speak to reporters and ask them to stop following his family.

During the impromptu press conference, Alec revealed that he is “extremely interested” in limiting the use of firearms on film sets.

“I’m not an expert in this field. So whatever other people decide is the best way to go in terms of protecting people’s safety on film sets – I’m all in favor of and I will cooperate with that in any way that I can,” he told DailyMail.com reporters nearly two weeks after the Santa Fe shooting.

Before signing off, the embattled star went on to ask the paparazzi to stop following him and his family.

“My kids are in the car crying. As a courtesy to you, I came out [to talk to you]. I’m not allowed to comment on the investigation. I talk to the cops every day,” he said.

“My point is that – I’m just asking you… we sat down as a courtesy to talk to you, now, please, would you stop following us and leave us alone?”
