Airline Launched First-Ever Restaurant That Offers Exclusively Airplane Food


An airline has launched the first-ever restaurant that provides its customers with in-flight experience by offering exclusively plane meals.

While many plane passengers can’t wait for the flight to be over and for them to be able to step back on solid ground, there are apparently plenty of people who love nothing more than digging into their in-flight meals.

In order to provide travelers with the opportunity to enjoy plane meals on the ground, AirAsia has launched a Santan that offers exclusively plane food in Malaysia’s capital.

As AirAsia explained, the restaurant located in Kuala Lumpur serves all kinds of meals that are generally available on their flights.

Among other offers are classic Malaysian dishes such as satay skewers, nasi lemak, and beef rendang. They have also included much-loved Philippines’ chicken inasal and Vietnam’s pho in their menu.

“We are very proud to extend what started out as an in-flight menu into new markets and reiterate our support for local and (Southeast Asian) producers, suppliers; apart from creating new job opportunities with affordable franchising,” the restaurant’s manager, Catherine Goh, expressed in a statement.

The first-of-its-kind restaurant is located at Kuala Lumpur International Airport whereas there are five chefs in total responsible for designing the menu.

Besides being able to enjoy the meals in the unique ambiance, people also have the option to order their meals online and have them delivered.

“We have seen a significant appetite for our in-flight menu offerings beyond our flights across the region and this is our answer to that demand,” Goh added.
