This Adorable Miniature Pig Played The Piano At His ‘Concert’

It’s amazing how some animals have come to display startlingly human-like behavior.

On the other hand, it really shouldn’t be surprising because, with more than 7 billion people in the world, there is hardly any place on Earth where humans have not come in contact with animals.

We may see ourselves as the pinnacle of life on this planet because of our intelligence and ingenuity but we often forget that animals also have brains, too. Granted, their intellectual faculties are not as developed as humans but they can also be quite observant and can mimic the people they see, sometimes with hilarious results.

Let’s also not forget about genetic imprinting. Certain traits and behaviors learned by one generation of animals can be passed on and manifest in later generations of that same species. The relationship between some animal species and humans is a bit mixed. Some species are on the brink of extinction or have become extinct due to human activity.

But then there are those that become pets or food. Dogs and cats have certainly thrived and their relationship with humans is very clear (though in the case of cats, it’s more like they’ve managed to domesticate us, humans).

It may be surprising though that there are also people who keep pigs as pets. Most people only know pigs as the animals that make up our bacon and pork cutlets but pigs are also surprisingly intelligent and likely as playful as dogs.

Within this spectrum, there are also miniature pigs that make these creatures even more adorable. The most commonly found minipigs are the Pot-bellied pigs, Göttingen minipigs, Choctaw Hogs, and Kunekune, as well as all the cross-breeds. The smallest of these is the Göttingen minipigs.

As mentioned earlier, pigs can be quite playful and the one featured on this clip is no exception. Adorably dressed up by the owner, the pig knowingly makes his way to his customized carpet (that even has a picture frame of his face!) so that he can start playing on his mini-piano.

What’s even more adorable is that he really does seem to be enjoying himself and even looks at the camera for a bit before going back to his “concert.”

It’s amazing how much these animals can surprise us and it’s up to us to continue treating them with care and compassion because let’s face it, pets are pretty much necessary in order to preserve a little sanity in the world.
