The adoption process is known to be long and cumbersome, but for some parents, it’s the only way to welcome a child into their home.
This was the case for Delaney’s adoptive parents. They spent SEVEN YEARS waiting and praying for the day they welcomed Delaney to their home. And finally, when the wait was over, they hopped on a plane to bring their daughter home from China.
Finally, their little girl, whom they have only seen on their computer screen, was going to meet them in real life! Can you imagine the emotions?
With trembling hearts, they boarded the plane. After many hours when they got to Beijing, they left one last video message for their relatives before heading out to get their daughter:
“Within the hour, she’s gonna be ours. So, next time you see us, we’ll be official mama and papa.”
At first, Delaney is unsure what’s going on. She’s staring at her new parents, not knowing who they are or what is going on. But as soon as she realizes that the pillow she’s holding in her hands has their picture on it, it all seems to become clear.
You can just see the love, joy, and excitement in the new parents’ eyes!
Not only were the parents over the moon to bring Delaney home, but the entire extended family was there to welcome her home.
Delaney’s new cousins and uncles and aunts were there to show her how much she’s loved and how much she belongs in this family! It’s truly a heartwarming moment and a true privilege for anyone to witness and be a part of.
