All thanks to a benevolent couple, who saw the two little boys in foster care and made their dreams come true.

Robbin Brydges and her husband Steven, from Jacksonville, Florida decided they wanted to adopt a child. She said they had been planning on it for a while and the moment they saw Dawson through an adoption agency, they fell in love with him. The 8-year-old boy, Dawson was put up for adoption in the foster system on the Adopt America platform, but he had long refused to go with any family that was not ready to take his disabled older brother, Dalton with him.

As gathered from the family, the older brother, Dalton has special needs as he has Cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The 11-year-old Dalton’s condition had made it difficult for them to get a home, especially one with a family ready to take up his care.

Nonetheless, Dawson did not give in to the disappointments, and he kept up his stance until a family who would keep them both came around.

When interviewed Dawson said, “I’ve always wanted to have my brother with me wherever I might go, so all I could do was pray really hard for so many years. I told them that, ‘I hope they will adopt my brother too.’”

As their good fortune would have it, his wish came true. One of the case workers asked the Brydges if they would be willing to adopt the two boys if they wanted Dawson. The discussion did not all go smoothly because of some n and Robin had, but they eventually agreed to keep the boys together.

“I ensured that I told them that being together as brothers are the most important thing.” their new adoptive mother Robbin Brydges told reporters.

Dawson and his brother Dalton have been waiting in foster care for about four years before Steven and Robbin came along.

As stated by their caseworker, getting Dawson adopted would have been an easy task, but he refused to be separated from his brother, who aside from his condition was non-verbal.

Robbins reaffirmed that they fell in love with Dawson immediately they saw his face through the adoption agency. She said, “Dawson was adorable looking little kid that had glasses on, and he loved Legos and superheroes.”  She added,  “I thought to myself that I’ll try and see if we are a good match for him.

She explained further that a caseworker reached out to them and asked if they would be interested in adopting the boy’s brother, Dalton too. She added that the boy had cerebral palsy, was epileptic and couldn’t speak.

Typically, people with Cerebral palsy have a wide range of difficulties in carrying out the basic human activities such as the inability to speak and swallow through the mouth, clumsiness in walking in motor actions.point 367 |

Their adoptive mom expounded that she was a little nervous about the decision she was going to make.

But as they deliberated over Dalton’s special care and attention, the Brydges came to realize that keeping the boys together would be the most important and sound decision.

The family was followed up by reporters and it was visible that Dalton has already made strides in bounding with the family from when they first got him.

“Dawson works very hard in his school and he is always looking out for his brother. As we’re teaching them, no matter what, we will always protect each other and continue to look after each other.”
