A mother accused of felony neglect for abandoning her nine-year-old adopted girl claims that she was actually 22 years old and had made several attempts to kill her.
Kristine Barnett, a writer, adopted Ukranian born Natalia in 2010 with her then-husband Michael. Both are accused of leaving the child in a flat in Indiana back in 2013 before they went to Canada week later.
The case filed against family is that they have left their adoptive daughter along to look after herself for three years. The family abandoned irrespective of knowing she’s just three feet tall and has a rare form of dwarfism.
The 45-year-old mother has claimed that she and her family are actually a victim in this case, as the girl was 22 years old at the time of adoption.
She further stated that the girl was a sociopath and even tried to stab the family in sleep, poison them with bleach and made several other attempts to kill her.
Kristine also gave a statement saying that the girl would openly express that she wanted to kill the family, roll them up in a blanket and throw them in the backyard.
She even spotted her adding bleach into her coffee, and when she confronted the girl regarding this, she said she is trying to poison her.
Kristine expressed her emotions on the media y saying that everyone is looking at her like a child abuser, but the fact is there’s no child in this scenario.
She continued by saying Natalia was a grown woman. She used to have periods and had adult teeth. She used to do terrible things that no one can imagine a child could do.
After Kristine constant claims that Natalia was a mentally disturbed grown-up woman, the judge has ordered a new hearing for her case.
