There are some heartwarming stories of the reunion of an adopted child and his or her biological parents.
When adopted children become adults, if they find out that they were adopted, they try to find their biological parents.
In the most cases, it is very hard to find biological parents and sometimes adopted kids hurts their feeling while finding their biological parents.
When Amy Roberson found out that she was adopted as a baby, she wanted to find her biological parents. She spends years to find them but it didn’t go well at first.
Finally, in 2013, social media helped her to find her nine siblings and she had her biological father’s phone number. Before she called her dad, Will Russel, she had been very nervous and worried that he might not be happy to find his daughter. However, she mustered up the strength and called him.
When she called her father, she asked to speak with “Andrew.”
“That’s my middle name, and no one has called me that for a very long time,” Pastor Russell said. “I had been praying that she would come into my life, and receiving that phone call was as if God said, ‘I heard you.'”

And he was completely open hearted and told her everything was going to be okay.
Amy’s dad Will was a teenager when he had Amy. Also, he was addicted to alcohol so he couldn’t take care of a baby. Therefore, he put her up for adoption shortly after she was born.
Years passed after Will sent Amy for adoption, he dedicated himself to the Phoenix Rescue Mission, an organization that provides “Christ-centered, life-transforming solutions to persons facing hunger and homelessness.” He started as a volunteer at the mission but became a full-time position in ministry.

Will and Amy were separated from each other for 24 years and had never seen each other before. So, when they heard about what they are doing, they couldn’t be more surprise.
The Phoenix Rescue Center, where Will is working, was where Amy volunteers.
They figured that out during the breakfast on the next day of their phone call. While eating breakfast together, Will confessed all about his hardships with alcohol abuse and told her how he overcame it. At the end of their breakfast, he said he should go to the Phoenix Rescue Mission.
And that’s when Amy was surprised because she had been volunteering in the Mission’s kitchen.
“When I first began volunteering at the Mission, I instantly felt like I needed to be there,” Amy said.
Her father, who began volunteering in the Mission’s kitchen but then moved to teaching Discipleship classes, agreed, adding, “I felt the same way. The Mission became home away from home.”
It is so amazing that even though Amy and Will had been separated for more than 20 years, they were motivated to give help to the same place. This is one of the most heartwarming reunions of a biological parent and an adoptive kid that I have ever seen.
