Conchata Ferrell, the veteran actress who starred in the Two And A Half Men, has passed away.
As reported by Deadline, the 77-year-old actress who was best known for playing Berta the housekeeper in CBS sitcom Two Men And A Half died on Tuesday after “complications following a cardiac arrest.”
According to the site, Ferrell passed away “peacefully” as she was “surrounded by family at Sherman Oaks Hospital” in California.
The tragic news follows months after Ferrell was transferred to a long-term care facility after suffering a heart attack.
According to TMZ, the star’s husband, Arnie, confirmed that Conchata was hospitalized back in May after showing symptoms of an infection she allegedly developed at the end of last year.
Following several days at the hospital, the Emmy nominee suffered a heart attack that prolonged her stay at the facility for one more month.
After her condition had stabilized, the actress was moved to a “respiratory unit” at a long-term care facility according to her husband.
Following Ferrell’s passing, her Two Men And A Half co-stars Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer paid the actress a touching tribute.
“An absolute sweetheart, a consummate pro, a genuine friend, a shocking and painful loss. Berta, your housekeeping was a tad suspect, your ‘people’ keeping was perfect,” Mr. Sheen expressed.
In a series of tweets, Mr. Cryer dubbed Ferrell “a beautiful human” and recalled how happy he was to have the chance to work with her.
“She was a beautiful human,” Cryer wrote. “Berta’s gruff exterior was an invention of the writers. Chatty’s warmth and vulnerability were her real strengths. I’m crying for the woman I’ll miss, and the joy she brought so many.”
He added: “I’m glad that I absolutely knew how fortunate I was to share a stage with her. I treasured every moment and will continue to until we meet again.”
