Tommy Boy Actor Brian Dennehy Died At His Home At The Age Of 81


Tommy Boy actor Brian Dennehy died at his Connecticut home at the age of 81 after dedicating more than 40 years of his life to the entertainment industry.

Throughout the decades, Dennehy has become a well-known TV figure with roles in several Hollywood movies and stage performances.

As it was confirmed by TMZ, the actor met his end at his home where he allegedly died of natural causes.

Paying her respects to the 81-year-old after his passing was Elizabeth Dennehy, the actor’s daughter, who took to social media to write the following tribute:

“It is with heavy hearts we announce that our father, Brian passed away last night from natural causes, not Covid-related.

“Larger than life, generous to a fault, a proud and devoted father and grandfather, he will be missed by his wife Jennifer, family and many friends.”

In his early years, Dennehy was studying at Columbia University before joining the Marines where he served until 1963.

As for his acting career, it wasn’t until his appearance in the TV series Kojak in 1977 that the actor experienced a breakthrough that set him on the path to becoming a Hollywood star.

From there, Dennehy appeared in several mainstream series including MASH, Lou Grant, and Police Woman.

He also starred in the likes of Dallas, Knots Landing, Fly Away Home, and Dynasty. In 1982, the actor also joined Sylvester Stallone in the movie First Blood.

Throughout the years, the actor appeared in several other classics including Cocoon (1985), The Return (1988), Presumed Innocent (1990), Gladiator (1992), and Tommy Boy (1995).

Dennehy’s last appearance on the screen was in 2019 as he played Dominic Wilkinson in The Blacklist series.

The Hollywood star is survived by wife Jennifer Arnott, their two children, and the three kids he had with his ex-wife Judith Scheff.
