A 32-year-old woman fell from a rollercoaster after her husband desperately tried to catch her foot at a theme park in Parc Saint-Paul, France.
According to witnesses, the woman slipped over the safety bar and her husband did his best to grab her foot but failed to save her.
Firemen rushed to the scene and tried to save the woman but she died before they could take her to hospital.
Local media reported that the mother visited the park to celebrate her 2-year-old child’s birthday. They were joined by her husband, sister, and mother.
One witness, Farida, said: “My children wanted to get in the carousel, and we heard screaming, then I saw the lady, who was strong, fall.
“She went over the bar and her husband tried to catch her by the foot.”
Another witness shared: “We have seen children feeling sick or crying. Some were at the top when the carousel stopped.”
This is not the first time someone fell from the same ride. A 35-year-old woman also died because of her own ‘inappropriate behavior’ in 2009 and the theme park was not held accountable.
The manager was handed a suspended 4-month jail sentence and ordered to pay damages for two other similar incidents.
According to Le Parisien, the Nacelle rollercoaster broke loose in 2005, leaving four people severely injured.
A month earlier, a similar incident left at least ten people hospitalized.
“The firefighters intervened and tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate the victim,” Campion said, The Sun reported.
The statement added: “The park area has been completely cut off for visitors. All the teams join the family to express their deepest sadness following this event.”
