Britney Spears has slammed plans to make a biopic of her life after Millie Bobby Brown revealed that she would love to play her in a biopic one day.
However, the 40-year-old singer reacted to the idea in a post on Instagram where she also talked about her family.
“I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life…” she wrote. “Dude I’m not dead!!!”
During an interview on the Drew Barrymore Show, The Stranger Things star mentioned that she wants to play Britney on screen.
“I want to play a real person and I think for me, Britney. (It) would be Britney Spears,” she said.
“I think her story resonates with me. Just growing up, watching her videos, watching interviews of her when she was younger — I see the scramble for words and I don’t know her, but when I look up pictures of her I feel like I could tell her story in the right way and hers only.”
But Spears was not impressed by the Enola homes actress’ remarks. She took to Instagram and slammed the idea of making a biopic of her life and also hit out at her family.
“Although it’s pretty f***** clear they preferred me dead. I guess my family is going to lock their doors now,” she added.
Many documentaries have already been made about Britney’s life, such as the New York Times documentaries which gave more details about her conservatorship.
In 2017, Lifetime released the Britney Ever After biopic which showed her ‘humble beginnings on the Mickey Mouse Club to mega stardom, a heavily publicized fall from grace, and a monumental comeback.’
Many people were not happy with Britney’s reaction to Millie Brown’s remarks during the interview.
One person commented: “What was meant as a compliment was taken as negative only in an immature mind.”
Another wrote: “That is a compliment. Her story is definitely not over but the girl obviously looks up to her. She thinks the world is against her. Smh.”
A third added: “I’m liking Brit less and less these days how disappointed Millie must be to get this reaction.”
