Startling reports from scientists have confirmed how a rocket is all set to smash into the moon within hours.
According to reports from local media outlets, many believe that the discarded rocket belongs to China but the latter is yet to confirm the news.
Meanwhile, sources believe that the massive three-tonne ‘Chinese’ booster might be leaving a mega 66 ft deep crater. In the same way, shocking reports also spoke about how the impact of the rocket slamming into the moon could be so intense that moon dust could literally be seen flying miles away.
The speed of the rocket is being predicted to be 5800mph and the exact time was estimated to be 12:25 GMT, explained reports.
At the moment, the rocket could be seen tumbling downwards in a haphazard manner, ever since it was launched in the year 2014.
But now, it appears that the end of the rocket is near as it is predicted to hit the moon very soon.
The rocked is believed to weigh nearly 3 tonnes and comprises of space junk that would be heavy enough to leave a huge crater as it slams into the moon’s surface today.
On the other hand, astronomers have gone as far as stating how they initially thought that the rocket was launched by Elon Musk’s renowned SpaceX in the year 2015. However, they changed their mind and rubbish that piece of information.
Other reports claim that Beijing denies the reports about the rocket’s origin being Chinese.
But no matter who the massive rocket belongs, one thing is for sure. Scientists are anxiously awaiting for the huge object to carve out a massive 33 feet to 66 feet hole into the moon’s surface. And that means the world just might be getting a tiny glimpse of moon dust as it is believed to be spread out hundreds of miles away.
