The Royal Family has ‘very real fears’ that Prince Harry’s book deal could destabilize the Monarchy.
There are also claims that one of the four books will come after the death of the Queen.
But the Duke of Sussex’s lawyers have explained that the claim he is waiting for the Queen to pass away before releasing one of the books is ‘defamatory’ and ‘false.’
The first book, described as a ‘definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him,’ will be released next year to mark the 25th death anniversary of Princess Diana.
However, it will coincide with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and there are concerns that the release of Harry’s first book could overshadow the celebrations.
A source reportedly said that there was ‘anger and disappointment’ among courtiers that Her Majesty faces anxiety over the content of his grandson’s book only months after the death of her husband Prince Philip.
Palace officials haven’t responded to the announcement for fear of ‘fanning the flames’ of an already strained relationship with the Sussexes.
The announcement of the four-book deal, which will include a wellness-type book by the Duchess of Sussex, came after the Queen started her annual summer holiday for the first time without her husband the Duke of Edinburgh.
A spokesperson for Harry said ‘proceeds’ from the first book would go to charity.
While Harry’s rift with his brother Prince William and father Prince Charles is evident, the Mail understands that his cousins Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are more sympathetic to the Duke.
“They believe Harry’s outspoken remarks may have been triggered because previously his voice and opinions were rarely heard within the Royal Family,” a friend said, adding that the Duke of Sussex was seen as the family’s ‘resident joker’ and that ‘eyes would roll’ whenever he tried to express his opinion on serious matters.
