A flight made an emergency landing in Seattle after a man threatened to hurt everybody on plane unless they accept his beliefs.
Footage from the shocking incident shows the man walking through the aisle of Alaska Airlines flight 422 bound for Chicago O’Hare, shouting: “I will kill everybody on this plane unless you accept Jesus was a black man.”
He walks past terrified passengers as he yells ‘die in the name of Jesus’ and ‘accept it.’
The flight took off from Seattle-Tacoma airport around 11:15 pm and the man started yelling 20 minutes later.
Another passenger shoves the man and is joined by another passenger who tries to mollify the suspect.
Footage filmed by another passenger shows the two trying to take the suspect down as a flight crew arrives with ties to restrain his hands.
The man detaining the suspect can be heard shouting at him to stay on the floor while the other passenger can be heard trying to calm other worried passengers.
It was then announced that the flight will make an emergency landing at the nearest airport and the aircraft was forced to go back to its origin.
The passengers were booked on another flight to their destination.
Police officers grabbed the suspect and he was booked into King County Jail. According to reports, the man was cooperative. While he was not charged with a crime, he was being investigated on suspicion of harassment.
One internet user commented: “I would’ve loved to have been on that plane to knock some sense into him.”
Another wrote: “He threatened death to a planefull of people-sorry he needs to be charged appropriately. If Seattle wants to see their revenue really drop- keep it up…”
A third added: “Harrassment”? Are you s—ing me? He should be booked on terrorism charges.”
