For most of us, the possibility of settling down for a beer in the pub appears to be a distant dream.
However, for Amanda, this dream has become a daily reality, and this was possible because of her partner David who made her an impressive pub in the garden.
David is a self-employed builder who started putting his skills to use before lockdown began with aim of paying tribute to late parents of Amanda, who ran a pub called The Mitre in Camden.
Fittingly, the pub in Essex’s Leigh-on-Sea has adopted the same name and features several tributes to her parents.
Fifty-six-year-old David noted that their garden pub goes by the name The Mitre with photographs of Amanda’s parents in honor of them.
David said that some years back before he began working on the pub, he brought her partner The Mitre sign that they now have hanging outside.
He revealed that he had promised her then regarding building it, and when Amanda saw it for the first time, she began crying due to joy and it was very emotional.
As you can see in the photographs, David did an outstanding job on the place in terms of the construction as well as little details with conversion costing near approximately £2,000 ($2,467).
The father-of-two noted that the materials did not cost anything and it was the fit-out where he had to spend.
He said that the bar took almost a week to build but the fit-out consumed time as he was sourcing items from Facebook and eBay, and going to proper pub suppliers for brass foot bar and bar stools.
He noted that he has installed a full sound system with a projector streaming sports, as well as a karaoke machine.
Their pub is completely stocked with spirits, beers, and wines. Their pub has a wall covered in 22,000 pennies stuck by the couple by hand, and the ceiling is adorned with over 200 old brewer signage and pub trays.
