Shauna Varner knew her grandmother Janis had to be a part of her big day.
However, due to social distancing guidelines, she had to be creative.
With that in mind, the granddaughter and Travis Scepaniak, her now-husband, made sure to visit Janis’ Minnesota Healthcare facility.
The duo gave Shauna’s grandmother a good view of the groom and the bride before they went to the aisle.
The couple visited Sartell’s Rapid Recover And Aquatic Center in Minnesota on Saturday and said hello to Janis through the glass door while dressed up as the bride and the groom.
County Manor shared on Facebook that their staff helped the grandmother pick out her best outfit and got Janis feeling the way every grandmother should on her granddaughter’s wedding day.
An adorable video of the moment was also shared by the facility in which Shauna approached the glass for and spoke to her grandmother.
Shauna said that Janis got to see the couple first and her grandmother who was holding a white rose replied good. Then, the two shared air kissed with the glass door in between and Janis complemented her beautiful granddaughter.
The facility revealed that the day was really exciting for Janis who told the staff members that the anticipation was killing her and she loved the girl so much.
Janis had even wanted to read at Shauna’s wedding and she was able to do that with the help of her son, Jeff. She arranged an adorable surprise recording of her speech to be played at the wedding.
Shauna’s father Jeff thanked County Manor for their help in arranging the special set-up on Facebook in a comment in which he called the day fantastic.
The director of the PR and marketing of the facility, Emily Frericks, who helped the Varner family said it was the least she could do for making the couple’s wedding day a special one.
Emily is also planning to get married soon but sadly her grandma passed away recently. So, she wanted to ensure Shauna did not have to miss her grandmother’s presence on her special day.
