A 60-year old man from Ohio who criticized the coronavirus lockdown by titling it as “government ploy” has died due to the virus.
He also claimed that the governor has no right to close down businesses due to the pandemic.
John W. McDaniel was tested for coronavirus in March and on April 22, 2020, Wednesday he died at the Riverside Methodist Hospital located in Columbus.
On his Facebook post, McDaniels called the novel virus nothing but a political ploy the authorities are leveraging to impose more control over the citizens.
In the Facebook Post, he demanded whether or not anybody has the guts to accept that COVID-19 is nothing but a political ploy.
He further demanded people to prove him wrong. This was a post from March 13, 2020, and he was diagnosed with the virus a week or so later.
He also claimed that the government does not have the right to close down businesses, and people who are worried about being sick should just stay inside.
As per his obituary, he fought cancer in the 80s. Apart from that, whether or not he suffered from any underlying medical condition is still unknown.
Mc Daniels left behind his wife and two adult sons. However, it is not known if they have also been infected with the virus. He was the President of an industrial manufacturing company.
Across the United States of America, officials are trying to calm the increasingly impatient and unrest citizens.
People have been showing their agitation with the lockdown; however, authorities right now have no other measures to curb its spread.
Some states that have lesser positive cases are considering gradually easing the social distancing measures in the next couple of weeks.
However, cities like New York, where the spread is massive, will continue to stay in lockdown until the situation is under control.
Presently, Ohio has 12,516 positive coronavirus cases with a death toll of 491 deaths. And a lot of cases in the state are among the prisoners.
Even with such a high number, people have been seen protesting against the stay-at-home orders by the government.
