David Attenborough, the national icon, has been confirmed as a new virtual geography teacher of the nation, as he was roped in by the BBC in their biggest ever education offer called Bitesize Daily.
While the schools remain shut in the country amid the coronavirus pandemic, numerous families are struggling with bringing learning to their home. Doing so is difficult because the parents have probably never picked up a textbook for decades.
However, they do not have to worry anymore because David has stepped up to aid them by offering his unparalleled knowledge and teach students all about the oceans.
He will also explore the way we map the world while helping us understand why the animals look that way, which would be interesting for everyone.
Bitesize Daily was launched by the BBC recently and offers 14 weeks of the curriculum-based learning for children across the U.K.
And David is not the only one stepping in to make sure children are able to learn new things during the lockdown because Professor Brian Cox will be joining as well.
He will be teaching major science topics like force and gravity, the solar system.
Sergio Aguero, the Manchester City footballer, would also teach the children how to count in Spanish.
Another bid name is of King Edward III’s direct descendant, Danny Dyer, who will be teaching kids about Henry VIII while bringing history to the Key Stage 1 kids.
Other names include former MP Ed Balls, Jodie Whittaker from Doctor Who’s, musicians Mabel and Liam Payne, TV presenter Anita Rani, along with Oti Mabuse from Strictly Corne Dancing.
The director of the BBC Children’s & Education, Alice Webb, said that they were proud that BBC could bring together numerous people to offer such a variety of support to aid parents and children in the U.K. at such a crucial time.
She added that when they said the BBC would be present for everyone during this crisis, they meant it.
