A man in the UK spotted a large wildcat with big claws moving outside his house located in central Cambridge.
The man compared the wild cat’s size to a fully grown Labrador dog, and he was seen on April 11th, 2020.
A resident who lives in the region said that it was not his first time that the large cat has visited; however, this time, he was able to get a photo to show the wild creature exploring his garden.
The resident revealed that it was approximately 8 or 8:30 am in the morning when he saw the animal from his kitchen window. Moreover, it somehow keeps coming back to his house in order to hunt rabbits and other small animals.
He also said that he wishes to remain anonymous and thought that the animal was a particular species of wildcat; however, when he tried to look closer, it appeared it was far too large.
The resident explained that earlier he thought it was a wildcat similar to a Felis Silverstris; however, then he went to his colleagues at the university, and they said it could not be Felis Silverstris as the animal was significantly bigger.
They further added that by seeing the tail, it appeared as a completely different species. The animal was brown and black, featuring a long tail with black circles on it. It had thick legs and big claws and appeared similar to a grown labrador dog.
People asked him whether or not it is Fen Tiger, a species that appears like a tiger and seen many times around Cambridgeshire over the last couple of decades.
To this, the man replied that he has heard of the Fen Tiger, but he is unsure whether this creature was it. After sighting the wildcat, the man contacted wildlife trust; however, due to the lockdown, there was no immediate answer.
