It is not surprising to know that people are scared of the coronavirus pandemic and are taking extreme measures to protect themselves from the highly-contagious disease.
Many countries are observing lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus as well.
However, the panic created by information related to the disease had forced a fifty-four-year-old man Patrick to do something horrific.
The man living in Illinois shot his wife fatally and then himself. He told his family that he feared the couple had contracted coronavirus after his wife showed some symptoms.
Willy County deputies went to a Lockport Township home on Thursday night because of a welfare check call.
Upon reaching there, they discovered the bodies of Patrick Jesernik and his fifty-nine-year-old wife Cheryl Schriefer in separate rooms of their home.
The family of the couple told the investigators that Patrick had been worried that he and Cheryl had contracted the coronavirus disease.
According to the family, Cheryl was tested for the disease two days before she was killed as she was experiencing trouble breathing.
The family noted that the couple had not received their test results.
According to the police, the majority of service calls received by them involve crisis intervention and domestic disputes call during the current coronavirus pandemic. They also urged everyone who requires help in domestic violence cases to call the authorities for filing an order of protection.
According to an autopsy report, the couple died due to gunshot wounds in their heads. Their deaths were considered to be a murder-suicide, and the weapon used in the murder was found near to Patrick’s body.
According to the report, Patrick and Cheryl did not test positive for the coronavirus disease.
