Jason Hargrove posted a clip to Facebook after a lady boarded his bus on 21st March and started coughing openly without putting her hand or mask on her mouth.
The Detroit bus driver who was fifty-years-old died due to coronavirus recently. After that incident, he became unwell within a few days and breathed his last on Wednesday night.
His video emerged after the city established new safety measures because of protests from the drivers regarding risks they had to face amid the coronavirus epidemic.
The city waved all fares, asked passengers to leave or board buses via the rear doors, as well as pledge to thoroughly clean all the buses.
In the video, Jason was seen acknowledging that the coronavirus sh*t is for real. He said that they, as public workers, were doing their jobs, were trying to make honest livings, as well as taking care of their families.
However, people who got on the bus and coughed on various occasions without even covering their mouths should know that the world is fighting a highly contagious disease but some people do not care at all.
He added that some people were dying because of the coronavirus disease. He explained that at some point, people like him would like to draw the line but they feel violated.
The clip was shared by Mike Duggan, Detroit mayor, who urged everyone to watch Jason’s clip. He said that Jason knew his life was put in danger by a person who did not take coronavirus seriously and because of that, Jason had to lose his life.
Duggan said that probably Jason was infected before the introduction of the additional safety measures but, now, police would be more aggressive with those flouting the social distancing guidelines.
