Thousands of people in Rome, Naples, and Milan applauded the medical worker from their balconies and windows while raising spirits with flashmob during the novel coronavirus lockdown.
Families and neighbors sang and crashed pans and pots together for the performers in various cities throughout the nation.
The whole thing was organized through WhatsApp at noon. Eclectic spectators shouted patriotically and praising phrases such as Vinceremo (we will win) and Viva I” Talia (long live Italy), etc.
A couple of cars in the road joined the chorus by adding to the tunes with their horns. Moreover, many people waved banners that were decorated with rainbows and displayed the phrase “Andra Tutto Benne” (everything will go well).
This heartwarming sight was followed by the flashmob where Italians sand in chorus raising rendition of their national anthem – Fratelli d”Italia. As of now, around 60 million people in the Mediterranean country are in the lockdown.
Yemi Adeyey, a resident in Rome, received a circulating forwarded message from her friend, which was asking Italians to participate in the flashmob on Friday 13th; 2020 at 6:00 pm.
And thousands of people joined this mob, and the entire street came alive, creating a euphoric moment.
Another resident Jessica Phelan said that her neighbors were waving and shouting ciao to one another and said: “a domain” (see you tomorrow). It was a clear indication that people are seeking out for the community, even if they cannot socialize.
It was a great gesture to say that we are all in this together. Italy is the second-largest country to be infected by Covid-19 with over 12,000 cases and over 800 deaths. The entire country is incomplete lockdown until the situation is under control.
