As the coronavirus cases in the UK continue to rise, a butcher from Earlsheaton, Dewsbury has come forward to help those in need.
People are stockpiling food and health care items due to coronavirus fears. Amid coronavirus panic buying, butcher Dave Jones has offered to provide food to those who are in need.
Dave, who is the owner of D Jones Butchers in Earlsheaton, Dewsbury, recently took to social media and offered to help needy people.
He offered a two-week food parcel to anyone who is on benefits and has to self isolate over the coronavirus.
Dave wrote on Twitter: “If anyone near our shop has to self isolate over the coronavirus and are on benefits I will put together a two week food parcel that will be delivered to your door.”
His tweet instantly went viral and received hundreds of likes and retweets. People praised the selfless act of the butcher and called him a ‘quality human’ and a ‘beautiful soul’.
One person praised Dave: ‘If only there were more beautiful souls like you in the world, it would be a better place, truly inspirational human being.’
Another said: ‘Dave Jones you are a good man. In a world where kindness and compassion are so often lacking, you shine. Thank you for caring.’
Amid coronavirus panic buying, an Aldi shopper recently shared a heartbreaking incident where an elderly man was unable to buy basic food items.
The unnamed Aldi shopper told that when they were in a very long line at Aldi with their daughter to buy bananas, they noticed an elderly man who was doing his weekly shopping.
The elderly man told them he had been to two supermarkets already before Aldi to find basic food items but couldn’t find anything due to the coronavirus panic buying.
The shopper took to Facebook after the heartbreaking incident and asked everyone to stop ‘selfishly clearing the shelves’ as vulnerable people and people with low income are being affected by it.
