Dominika Cuda is a London-based Photography expert who seeks passion and solace in capturing exquisite moments and ideas.
She was a former biathlete and has gathered numerous champion, Olympians, ballerinas, sportsmen, and horseriders to capture a static calendar for charity.
In an interview, Cuda declared it as the third edition of the calendar, thus making it easier for her to coordinate with her subjects. She also pointed out that the main concern wasn’t in choosing people with palatable physiques, but in finding individuals who were actually passionate about the shoot. The athletes had contacted her and she told them that spots for the shoot were open.
While the calendar was developing, Cuda faced financial difficulties. Even going through the financially regressive period, she didn’t lose hope and continued the project. She declared herself as the first and only person to envision the project and had zero sponsors taking the burden of fundings upon her shoulders.
The photoshoot took place somewhere near Warsaw, Poland. The static yet evolving imagery was compiled to form a 300-page diary and yearly planner, with numerous features like training schedules and records for personal achievements.
All proceeds from the sales of the calendar are donated to the One Year Fund, which provides support to underprivileged athletes and models. Cuda said that she was a biathlete once and knows very well that quality equipment and shoe-wear is required to get the best out of your performance. She helps underfunded athletes to reach their dreams and goals, and through her charity initiative over a hundred athletes have seen the light.
