The Host Alex Trebek who is 78 years old, is near remission with his 4th stage cancer battle as his tumor has been shrunk by half.
In just less than three months, Trebek got his happy news as his survival rate increased than before. After a few more rounds of chemotherapy, Trebek will hopefully recover from his cancer.
Trebek claims that it is just so surprising because the doctors said that it is very rare to see such a positive result in this type of cancer as it only has 9% survival rate. He further told that some of his tumors have already shrunk by 50%.
Trebek feels that his fast recovery was not only possible because of the medicines but also through the love his fans showered on him.
He said that a lot of people prayed for him and showered him with positive energy. He believes that the positivity and love from his fans played an essential role in his recovery, just like the therapy.
Alex got really emotional when he got to know about the high chances of his recovery and also he made it a point never to decrease the value of the love he got from others during his difficult phase.
Trebek claimed that his tears were not because of the sadness, but they were tears of joy.
He further shares how sometimes he used to get intense stomach pains where he used to lie down on the floor alone in suffering. He explained how it was confusing to understand what was happening to him, but he still used to take pills and come for the show.
Trebek said that his producers were all very sweet and kind towards him during the shoot of the show and he made a point not to let the show stop.
He shared how he has experience of dealing with the stomach pain because of his kidney stones, but during this stage, the difficult part for him was the deep sadness that came with the pain.
Now that there are chances of Trebek getting better after a few more chemotherapy sessions, he’ll come back on air in September.
