Tragic reports have confirmed that an elderly woman has been seriously injured after being attacked by a group of geese.
According to reports from local media outlets, the woman was said to be busy feeding her ducks at the local park. This incident arose at City Lake Park in Royse City, where the woman was identified as Lydia West. She was pushed down to the ground when the geese rushed towards her for food.
As per her son, she fell hard on the ground and got trapped as the birds continued to attack her, leaving her unable to move. Witnesses shared how they were forced to intervene to try and save her from the scattering geese and also rushed to call 911.
As a result of this incident, she received injuries to her pelvis and also sustained internal bleeding. She was soon rushed to the trauma center and is now facing a long recovery phase. This includes physiotherapy and relearning how to walk. Her small body and existing health concerns make this recovery especially challenging.
The woman’s son was seen expressing serious shock that these geese could become territorial and very aggressive in nature. He hoped that this frightening incident would serve as a warning, especially for seniors and the risks linked to close encounters with wildlife.
