Two National Guard soldiers were shot in an ambush-style attack just 800 yards from the White House.
The incident sparked an immediate lockdown in the president’s residence, sources have confirmed. The suspected gunman is currently in custody but also wounded in the aftermath of the incident and is now being treated in a hospital. The exact location was confirmed to be the Farregut West metro station, which is just 800 yards away from the White House.
The FBI Director has confirmed that both soldiers are fighting for their lives and being treated at a local hospital after the West Virginia governor confirmed earlier that both soldiers were dead before walking back on his statement.
This sparked massive confusion, forcing Kash Patel to step in and confirm again that they were alive and fighting for their lives. Graphic images from the scene showed the soldiers lying on the pavement with blood pouring from their heads as a Secret Service agent gave them immediate medical attention.
The FBI, ATF, and Secret Service were seen swarming the scene as a helicopter landed on the National Mall to evacuate one of the wounded National Guardsmen.
Trump has so far deployed 2300 National Guard troops in the capital since August as part of his promise to crack down against the growing number of crime in the nation’s capital.
