On the latest episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg was seen making some very sarcastic remarks while discussing a segment related to US President Donald Trump.
This is the point where she quipped that Trump used an autopen when pardoning crypto-exchange founder Changpeng Zhao, referencing his 60 Minutes interview, where he mentioned that he did not know who Zhao was.
Shortly after this, co-host Sunny Hostin passed Goldberg a piece of paper from the show’s producers, asking her to clarify that there is no confirmed evidence about Trump using an autopen.
Goldberg reacted in a visible manner, stating: ‘What the hell? What? as she read the note out loud. That is when she loudly declared that it was a ‘joke!’ and tore the note into shreds on-air with fellow co-hosts watching in shock. She further emphasized to the audience how they needed to know when she is joking versus when she’s speaking in a serious tone.
This incident is being framed as a part of larger tensions behind the scenes at The View, suggesting how the network or producers are increasingly cautious about any comments being made related to Trump and the great pressure it holds on the part of the hosts.
