Actor and director Justin Baldoni received a hugely shocking verdict regarding his $400 million countersuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
The lawsuit valued at around $400 million against the power couple and the New York Times was formally dismissed yesterday by a judge, leaving fans stunned.
Baldoni had mentioned in that lawsuit how Lively and Reynolds conspired to wrest control of the 2024 film version of It Ends with US from him and allegedly orchestrated a defamatory article in the New York Times.
The judge previously ruled that the allegations of extortion and defamation lacked merit and Baldoni had missed the October appeal deadline, sealing the dismissal.
Following this dismissal, Lively’s legal team stated how they intend to seek attorney’s fees, treble damages, and punitive damages from Baldoni and his firm.
They argued that the lawsuit was retaliatory and abusive of the court system. Lively’s motion invokes California’s AB 933 to boost her claim that she should be protected and compensated for costs and harm. Although Baldoni’s countersuit is over, his underlying case accusing Lively of s*xual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign is still pending.
