Disgraced rapper Diddy is getting the VIP treatment that he and his legal team had requested in jail.
The 55-year-old star is starting to serve his jail sentence for federal prostitution-linked convictions. He was sentenced to 50 months after being found guilty on two counts of transporting people across different state lines for sexual activity.
The rapper has been detained since his arrest in September 2024 at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
His legal team formally requested that he be assigned to the FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. They continued to argue about how the facility offers the Residential Drug Abuse Program. This is closer to his family, which they say would support his rehab and visitation. Shortly after this request, Diddy was sent to Fort Dix yesterday to start his sentencing from there.
Fort Dix is deemed to be a lower security institution when compared to the harsh conditions he faced at MDC Brooklyn, with dormitory-style housing and more outdoor access.
It also mentioned that his time already served will count towards his sentence, and that would factor in good conduct credits. Now, his projected release date would be May 8 in 2028.
