Donald Trump touched down in Kuala Lumpur for the first leg of his Asia tour and greeted a sizeable crowd with a shocking red carpet dance.
Reporter footage and commentary showed Trump getting into the groove after a long flight, joining performers from Malaysia in rhythm moves and waving to those looking at them from a distance.
The news comes as the US President kicks off his Asia tour after stopping in Qatar for a refueling of Air Force One, where he met with Qatar’s head of state aboard Air Force One.
The president appeared to be in the best of moods and was also accompanied by the prime minister of Malaysia on this occasion.
This visit serves as a kickoff to a five day trip through the region and was designed to strengthen US relations and trade ties with East and Southeast Asian countries.
One of the events highlighted included a signing between Thailand and Cambodia, which was mediated by America. It was aimed at putting an end to recent border conflict. While this dance moment was likely served as light hearted optics, it underscored Trump’s intentions to project a bold and upbeat picture as he engaged in diplomacy across Asia.
