Tragic reports have confirmed the death of one person and six more people being injured at a homecoming event yesterday at Lincoln University.
The tragedy arose when a mass shooting incident occurred during the evening hours, which included gunfire erupting all of a sudden near the venue’s International Cultural Center and tailgate zone following a football game. One person was killed and six more were injured as attendees fled the chaotic scene.
Authorities were seen rushing to the incident, where they detained one person in possession of a firearm and are now investigating the matter to see if more than one shooter might have been involved.
However, at the moment, officials claimed that there was no threat to the campus.
Investigators from the Chester County District Attorney’s Office shared how the State Police and FBI are leading the probe.
They are urging anyone with any kind of details or evidence in the form of video footage or other data to please come forward from this scene.
In reply, the university shared that counseling and support services would be made available to students, staff, and visitors who might have been impacted by this tragedy.
