Thousands of gathered in leading cities around the US to protest against President Trump and his administration today.
The No Kings protest has already begun in New York City, Washington, DC, and Atlanta as demonstrators were seen gathering to voice opposition against the President and Republican policy priorities.
Experts spoke about how millions are going to take part in thousands of locations around the country, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and other places like the EU and Mexico.
High-profile Democratic leaders are expected to be in attendance, and it’s still not clear whether House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries would be taking part.
Republican leaders criticized the protests and suggested that they were a clear distraction from the ongoing government shutdown and a tool for Democrats to appease their base rather than govern it.
In reply to all the concerns over the political unrest, states like Virginia have chosen to roll out the National Guard and issued warnings that while free speech remains protected, destruction, looting, or violence will never be tolerated.
Meanwhile, US VP Kamala Harris was seen showing her support of the protests and ordering her followers to come out on the streets for a peaceful protest against Trump and his many controversial policies.
