In a shocking recent appearance on the podcast ‘The Viall Files, ‘ Robert Irwin got super emotional while speaking about his late dad, Steve Irwin.

Robert shared how he watched old footage of his father stating, ‘My whole mission is to create a legacy which my kids can continue,’ and those words for him became a gift that he’s now living out.

Though Robert was only two years old when his father Steve died in the year 2006 while filming with a stingray, the younger Irwin mentioned that watching this footage sometimes floods back vivid memories of his father and moments that they shared together.

He also mentioned the hardest part is realizing that his dad was not there at many life milestones, and that really hurt.

Robert paid tribute to his father and then also took this chance ot appreciate his mother for all that she’s done for him.

He mentioned that the pair have shared some great times, and the manner in which she stepped in is really something, as she did all that she could at the time. “I am grateful to be here today to live on with my dad’s legacy. He will always be in my heart, and I have so much gratitude for the person he was,”- the star continued.
