President Trump on Thursday shrugged off a question about his chances of winning the Nobel Peace Prize ahead of the announcement made on Friday as he touted his efforts to broker a ceasefire and peace agreements in various conflicts.
‘I know this that nobody in history has solved eight wars in a span of nine months. And I have stopped eight wars so it has never happened before’ he added. He mentioned this during a meeting at the Oval Office with Finland’s president yesterday.
He also mentioned that the judges will do what they have to do, and whatever they do will be fine. “I know this for a fact that I did not do this for that. I did it because I saved a lot of lives,” he mentioned.
The Nobel Committee mentioned that there are a total of 338 candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize this year.
The winner would be shared on Friday, days after Trump mentioned his administration had helped broker a deal that would see hostages getting released by Hamas and putting an end to the fighting in Gaza. Trump has in the past been very critical in public of the Nobel committee and also those who awarded the peace prize to former President Obama.
