Dolly Parton’s sister reassured fans after alarming them with a social media prayer request for the 79-year-old superstar’s health.

Freida Parton certainly caused a lot of scare and panic among fans late Tuesday night when she took to her account on social media to clear something up about the original post earlier that same day.

‘I did not mean to scare anyone or make it appear so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly,’ – she mentioned. ‘She’s been a little under the weather,’- she continued.

Freida explained, ‘I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayers. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister’- she added. She then thanked everyone for praying and lifting her up, adding how their love truly makes a major difference.

Hours before that, Dolly’s younger sibling mentioned that she had been up all night praying for the Grammy star. ‘Many of you know that she has not been feeling her best lately,’ she mentioned at the time.

‘I truly believe in the power of prayer and I have been led to ask all of you around the world who love her to please pray for her with me’- she shared. The post concluded by saying that Dolly is strong and she will rise above this all.
