A courtroom turned into a scene of terror when a man on trial opened fire and killed the presiding judge and injured two more during a heated property dispute hearing.
Appeals Court Judge Astrit Kalaja was shot inside his own courtroom in Tirana, Albania, by a 30-year-old defendant identified by the cops as E.Sh.
The judge shared more details about how he was rushed to the hospital after the horror arose on Monday during an attack, but succumbed to his injuries on the way, as shared by the police.
The other side in this dispute, which included the father and the son, were also reportedly hit and remain inside the hospital, but are said to be stable as per officials.
Local reports suggest more about how the gunman opened fire because he thought he was about to lose the court case. Police arrested the shooter at the scene of the crime and seized the revolver used in this attack.
Authorities have also arrested the suspect’s uncle and a court security guard in connection with the shooting, as shared by investigators. Footage circulating online showed the chaos that arose and the aftermath outside the appeals court.
